The Big Boy Belly Competition

What do you get when you have three overweight friends sitting around talking about food?!

You get this website!

Marcus, Adam, and Brian have decided to put together a "friendly" weight loss competition. Each of them has his own goals and they will each work on losing weight in different manners! There has been talk of HCG, Atkin's, veggies, fish, high-protein, no-protein, Walking, Squatting, Gold's, Anorexia, Bulimia, and the group favorite "Whatever the HELL it takes to beat the other two!!!"

THE COMPETITION:

There will be three stages to the competition.  We all put in $50 up front for the first stage.  We will weigh in after each stage to get a measure on how we are doing.  The first stage will end on April 10, 2011.  We will weigh in up in Ogden right after Adam blesses little Joan.  After our weigh in, we will pay another $25 to begin the second stage.  The second stage will end June 11, 2011 and we will do that weigh-in up in Logan, whether it be before or after our round of golf...thanks Marcus.  At the end of stage 2, we will again pay $25 to start the third and final round.  The final weigh-in will be for all the marbles...and all the money.  The final weigh-in will take place August 6, 2011.  We will be in Pleasant Grove for this one.  If, by chance, one of us is not able to make it to one of the weigh-ins, Ogden or Logan, we will be fined $20 which will go into the pot for the winner.  If one of us misses the final weigh-in, we forfeit our opportunity to win.  By the end of the competition, the pot, if there are no fines, will be up to $300.  Good luck guys...may the best man win!
The real question would be, "Who's the real winner?"  The real winner is any contestant who takes this competition seriously and allows it to whip him into shape.

STARTING WEIGHT:

Marcus - 331
Brian - 318
Adam - 279

MISCELLANEOUS:

Favorite quote so far:

"Adam has a natural advantage over the other two. He's been skinny before...his body knows what to do!"

GARY WILSON

Yes, it is true that only Adam has been "skinny" in the adult life but it is false that he is the only one that has ever been in better shape than he currently finds himself.  However, there are pictures and other evidence that provide proof that both Brian and Marcus were, at least one time, normal sized kids.  It is on!

Marcus remembers a time, not too many years ago, that he found himself going to the gym daily, eating right, and being in a lot better shape. Falling for his wife made him motivated to lose extra poundage that he has since found. After marriage and becoming comfortable with himself and his relationships, he didn't mind it when he gained some weight. Much of his time has been spoken for by his family and job which has left him little to no time to hit the weights like he has wanted.  Six months 'til the final weigh-in!  Mark it on your calendar.  Marcus, it's time to put up or shut up.

Brian recalls pictures from his football days and videos from his youth. He could run a mile and not be too tired.  Now he gets tired rounding the bases in a softball game!  He wants to get in shape to allow him to accomplish many other things in his life, including his future career as a therapist.  It's much easier to take advice from someone who looks like they have their life under control.  After all, would you listen to a fat trainer at the gym or take addiction recovery advice from an alcoholic?  Brian likes to blame his lack of effort these past few months on his shift (night shift) at the State Hospital.  He knows it's a bologna excuse but it justifies him in his addictions to Mountain Dew and 3 a.m. Beto's runs.  26 weeks until the final weigh-in.  Brian, it's time to put up or shut up.

In regards to his weight, Adam feels the worst that he has ever felt before.  He has allowed himself to add another little person in his life and we're not talking about Joan.  182 days until the final weigh-in.  Adam, it's time to put up or shut up.

To all of three of you, Just Do It!  Is it in you?  Our blood, our sweat, your tears!  Refuse to lose!  Winning is a habit, Success is a choice! Out hustle, out work, out think, out play, out last!  Some want it to happen, others wish it would happen, Winners make it happen!
